On November 2010, I took an off day to spend my weekend in Singapore. The main reason was for a short escape from daily routine. And the reason it happened in mid November is because A Little Night Music musical perform in SG.
It was a tough choice between David Foster’s concert and the musical. But sadly, I bought the musical first. So I didn’t get to choose. (well I guess it wasn’t a tough choice since I can’t really choose). My boyfriend picked A Little Night Music because the composer/arranger for the music is Stephen Sondheim.

Once again, my boyfriend was right. It was a mind-blowing performance. With only 10 casts, plus five singers, not to mention the not-so-big orchestra accompanying the musical, the result was beyond words. Also, the production didn’t use a festive and awesome props and backdrop. It was only an empty stage with black curtain on the back as the backdrop. I should say, the whole performance really depends on the actor/actress and the music.

The acting was so good, the singing brought me to tears. Maybe it’s because their skill and preparation, I was blown away by their performance. A simple and lovely drama comedy wrapped with beautiful music and alluring voices. My boyfriend and I can’t stop singing “Send in The Clowns” for I don’t know how long. If you happen to be in the city where A Little Night Music performs, don’t miss it!
